Here is Stanislaus District fans’ pick for The Bee’s Girls Prep of the Week

Patterson junior pitcher Desirrei Sorci just had the best week of her three-year varsity career.

In a pair of Central California Conference matchups with Buhach Colony and Golden Valley, Sorci combined to pitch two complete games and recorded 27 total strikeouts.

The best part? It led to key wins. Patterson beat Buhach Colony 9-3 and two days later bested Golden Valley 2-1. She fanned 12 against the Thunder with just two earned runs and against the Cougars, struck out 15 batters without allowing an earned run.

The Tigers maintained their playoff spot with the league wins and currently sit second in the CCC with three league games remaining.

The fans noticed her performance, voting her The Bee’s Girls Prep of the Week.

Sorci came in first, collecting 45% of the more than 41,000 votes in the weekly poll. She finished ahead of softball players Rylee Reeves (Pitman) and Allison Moring (Hughson) who were second and third, respectively.
