Here is Stanislaus District fans’ pick as The Bee’s Girls Prep of the Week

Megan Weststeyn has had her share of success as a volleyball player at Ripon Christian.

After helping the Knights capture section and state championships last season as a junior, Weststeyn wants to finish her senior season as a champion as well. So far, she has helped lead the Knights to a 21-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 start in the Southern Athletic League.

In a league game against Mariposa County, the setter led the team in assists (36) and aces (7) while adding five kills in a sweep over the Grizzlies. The Knights have not lost a set to a league opponent all season.

The fans noticed her performance, voting her The Bee’s Girls Player of the Week.

After a late voting surge, Weststeyn finished first, earning 51% of the votes in the weekly poll. She came in ahead of volleyball players Maya Gonzalez (Beyer) and Shelby Jackson (Central Catholic) who finished second and third, respectively.
