Turlock Christian is looking for another deep postseason push.

After the Eagles’ 2022 NorCal Division V playoff run, they have started 5-0, scoring more than eight runs in four of their five games.

They have a number of returners from last season’s successful team, among them skilled pitcher and infielder Rob York, who started on the mound March 15 against Edison.

While Eagles freshman Joe Farinha had a great offensive day with a double, a triple and six RBIs, York made sure no Vikings reached base.

The senior pitched five no-hit innings, shutting out Edison and striking out 11 batters. Offensively, he went 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk and two RBIs in a 14-0 win. The fans noticed York’s performance, voting him The Bee’s Boys Player of the Week.

York finished first after collecting 73% of the votes in the weekly poll. He came in ahead of baseball players Andrew Balentine (Pitman) and Landon Schutte (Oakdale) who finished in second and third.
