Here is Stanislaus District fans’ pick for The Bee’s Boys Prep of the Week

The Modesto High baseball team has put together a stellar offensive start to its season. The Panthers have scored 32 runs as part of their 3-1 record.

They have gotten offensive production from multiple players in the lineup, and none has been more productive than Eli McCabe.

Through the Panthers’ first four games, the senior hit .500 with team highs in seven hits , including a home run, and 10 RBIs. He led the scorching Modesto offense in a non-league game against Chavez on March 8.

McCabe had a perfect afternoon, going 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, six RBIs and two runs. The fans noticed his performance, voting him the player of the week.

McCabe finished first after collecting 83% of the votes in the weekly poll. He came in ahead of baseball players Jackson Takhar (Hilmar) and Grant Veneman (Gregori) who finished in second and third.
