Stanislaus County track and field meet postponed due to weather

The 21st Stanislaus County Track and Field Meet hosted at Hughson High School has been rescheduled, the Hughson Track account posted on Facebook Friday morning.

The Stanislaus County Championships Meet was originally scheduled for Friday, March 10. Field events had a 2 p.m. scheduled start and track events were slated to begin at 5 p.m.

“After lots of discussion, storm tracking, surveying the facility and prayer, we have decided to cancel the meet today and reschedule for the date of the County Clash, March 24th,” Mark Perry, one of the event directors said in an email to coaches that was posted on Facebook. “ Hopefully, that will make for a better day for athletes, coaches and fans.”

As is continues to pour in Stanislaus County, meet officials are discussing an official reschedule date. In an email to The Bee on Friday morning, Perry said organizers are “still discussing the plan” as they look to lock down a day without conflicts as the County Clash at Oakdale High School is also scheduled for the 24th, according to Athletic.net.
