Gregori High wrestler Mikayla Lancaster made history at the 2023 Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Championships last week.

In the weekend of competition, the junior went 4-0, beating every opponent by fall en route to the 150-pound title. She is just the second girl to stand atop the Masters podium.

After finishing as runner-up last year, Lancaster pinned Avangeline Turner of Davis in 4 minutes, 40 seconds for the title.

The fans noticed her performance, voting Lancaster The Modesto Bee Girls Player of the Week.

Lancaster won the weekly poll, earning 62% of the votes. She finished ahead of Patterson soccer player Lissette Gregoris and Riverbank basketball player Rayne Tago, who came in second and third place.
