Here is Stanislaus District fans’ pick for The Bee’s Boys Prep of the Week

Hilmar High basketball player Jacob Flanery averages 7.5 points a game, but has shown flashes of brilliance for the Yellowjackets.

He opened the season with a 13-point game on 63% shooting against Denair and scored 14 points against Orestimba. In a Jan. 17 game against Livingston, he had his best scoring game yet.

The senior set a varsity career high of 15 points to help propel his team to a 61-56 win over the Wolves. The fans noticed Flanery’s performance, voting him The Bee’s Boys Player of the Week.

Flanery won the weekly poll, earning 90% of the votes. He finished ahead of the Oakdale High wrestling team and Downey basketball player Lloyd French, who came in second and third place.

He set a new career high Jan. 20 with 22 points in a loss to Riverbank.
