Tai-Run Williams has done some of everything for the Vanguard College Prep boys basketball team this season.

The senior is averaging 24.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals a game and has had eight double doubles in the team’s first 23 games. The Lions have started the season 15-8.

Williams continued his all-around strong season in a Jan. 12 matchup against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy.

His near triple double effort of 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists helped the Lions secure a 12-point win. The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Modesto Bee’s Boys Player of the Week.

Williams won the weekly poll, earning 67% of the votes. He finished ahead of basketball players Malachi Miller of Central Catholic and Lloyd French of Downey, who came in second and third place, respectively.
