Orestimba is first in the Southern Athletic League with a little less than a month left in the season and the Warriors have been dominant.

Both offense and defense are clicking as they have outscored their opponents 114-3. They took a break from league games on April 4 against Riverbank, where dominant pitching and powerful hitting led them to a 10-0 win and Jacqualyn Lujan had a lot to do with that. Fans voted Lujan this week’s Girls Player of the week in The Bee’s high school poll.

She did it all for the Warriors. The junior had three hits with two doubles and four RBIs while striking out 15 batters and pitching a complete game shutout in the circle.

Lujan finished first in the weekly poll after gaining 67% of the votes. She finished ahead of softball players Maddie Schultz (Ceres) and Presley Barnes (Oakdale), who finished in second and third, respectively.
