Gregori High is the Central California Athletic League’s hottest team through the first part of league play.

The Jaguars are on a five-game winning streak and have outscored their opponents 32-4. One of their biggest wins of league play came on Thursday, March 24, against the CCAL’s second best team, Turlock.

The Bulldogs were only able to score one run, thanks to the dominant pitching of sophomore Kailey Estes.

In her fifth win of the season, Estes struck out 14 batters and allowed just two hits and one run in a 3-1 Central California Athletic League win over Turlock. She also had a good showing at the plate with two hits and one RBI. The fans noticed her performance, voting her The Bee’s Girls Player of the Week.

Estes finished first after collecting 52% of the more than 32,400 votes in the weekly poll. She finished ahead of Central Catholic softball player Randi Roelling and Ceres softball player Brooklyn Heffernan, who finished in second and third, respectively.
