Here’s Stanislaus District fans’ pick for The Bee’s Boys Prep of the Week

The Central Catholic baseball team set the tone for Valley Oak League play in its first game.

The Raiders put up 15 runs and allowed just two in their league opener against Kimball. They have won their first four league games, sitting at second in the VOL and have a 9-6 overall record.

In their best offensive game of the season against Kimball, Raiders junior Joel Roberts had a breakout performance.

Roberts had three hits with one double, one home run and four RBIs in the 15-2 win. The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Boys Player of the Week.

Roberts finished first after collecting 51% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Ceres baseball player Landyn Hudson and Ripon Christian baseball player Grant Sonke, who came in second and third, respectively.
