Before the season, the Central Catholic softball team was highlighted by MaxPreps as one of the best teams in the Sac-Joaquin Section and 13 games in, they’re ranked as the seventh-best team in the section.

The Raiders took on a tough Lincoln-Stockton team in one of their final non-league games of the season. Catcher Noelany Ramirez was a big part of why they were able to come away with a win.

The Stanislaus State signee had three hits with a double, two RBIs and scored a run in the Raiders’ 5-3 win over the Trojans, giving them their seventh straight win. The fans noticed her performance, voting her The Bee’s Girls Player of the Week.

Ramirez collected 58% of the more than 35,000 votes in the weekly poll. She finished ahead of softball players Kailey Estes of Gregori and Shelby Wilder of Escalon.
