Hughson’s Carlos Guizar is just a freshman, but in the Huskies’ comeback win against Ceres on March 9, he played beyond his years at the plate.

The third baseman went for three hits with a double, scored two runs and knocked in two RBIs as the Huskies rallied to beat Ceres 10-7.

After falling behind 6-3 at the end of the fourth, Hughson scored six total runs in the final three innings.

The .600 batting average and three hits are both season and career highs. The fans noticed the contribution to his team’s win, voting him The Bee’s Boys Player of the Week.

Guizar earned 44% of the votes in our weekly poll. Turlock’s Kody Sims (38%) and Enochs’ Logan Gibson finished in second and third place, respectively.
