Here’s Stanislaus District fans’ pick for The Bee’s Boys Prep of the Week

Turlock waited until the last game of the regular season to make history.

On Friday, Feb. 11, the Bulldogs captured their first Central California Athletic League title with an 80-56 road win over Downey. They shared the regular season title with Gregori.

Senior guard Daniel Malagon led the team with 23 points and knocked down seven of his 13 three-point attempts. Because of his performance, Malagon was voted as The Bee’s Boys Player of the Week by the fans. He received 73% of the votes in the weekly poll.

Malagon finished first ahead of basketball players Merek Boone of Big Valley Christian and Eli Terpsma of Ripon Christian.

The Bulldogs (19-7) travel to Sacramento to take on Capital Christian (17-9) Friday night in their playoff opener.
