Here’s Stanislaus District fans’ pick as The Bee’s Girls Prep of the Week

Rayne Tago is one of the key pieces in the puzzle that is the Patterson High girls basketball team. She helped lead the Tigers to a 20-4 overall record and a 10-2 record in the Central California Conference.

The 5-foot-10 forward is one of the Tigers’ top scorers and leads the team with 8.1 rebounds. Tago finished the season with six double doubles including a 14-point, 11 rebound performance against Central Valley on Feb. 10, helping her team to a 70-33 win.

The fans noticed Tago’s performance and it showed, as she was voted The Bee’s Girls Player of the Week. With more than 57,000 votes, she finished ahead of Gregori basketball player Sara Davis and Orestimba basketball player Olivia Gray.

Though Patterson’s season ended in the first round of the playoffs Tago, a sophomore, will hope to build on her success and make a deep postseason run next season.
