Johansen bounced back from a league loss against Beyer with two straight wins. First against Davis on Jan. 20 and then a 47-42 victory over Los Banos on Saturday, Jan. 22.

The Vikings’ win over Los Banos was their third Western Athletic Conference victory of the season, and forward Alize Martinez played a large role in keeping the team in the game.

The junior scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. The fans noticed her performance, voting her The Bee’s Girls Player of the Week.

Martinez earned 47% of the votes in the weekly poll. She finished ahead of Riverbank basketball players Taylor Macias and Livi Fernandez, who came in second and third, respectively.
