Four players scored in double figures, led by Alek Carlson’s 19 points, as Cal State Stanislaus earned its second straight win, a 68-52 victory over host San Francisco State.

Carlson, the team’s only senior, netted five three-pointers, and Christian Bayne had 16 points for Stanislaus (3-3, 2-0), which began league play with a 68-64 win Thursday night over Cal State San Bernardino.

The Warriors led by as many as 15 points in the second half. They also outrebounded their hosts 43-23.

Stanislaus returns home for a nonconference game Wednesday night against Chico State.

Stan State women 61, S.F. State 54 in San Francisco – Senior guard Alysa Valentine rewrote the record book en route to 26 points, including eight consecutive three-pointers, as Stanislaus (6-2, 2-0) dropped San Francisco State.

Valentine, from Stockton, missed her first three-point attempt before she hit eight in a row. She broke the Stanislaus record set by Hall-of-Famer Lisa Minturn, who made seven straight threes on Dec. 10, 1988, against Point Loma Nazarene. Valentine also is one of six CCAA players to make eight triples in a game. The eight straight threes tied the mark set by J.J. Judge of Cal Poly Pomona in 2012.
