Stanislaus State volleyball team wins in 5 to snap three-match slide

Blair Ehrlich had 20-plus kills for the fourth time this season, leading Stanislaus State to a 25-12, 20-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-9 California Collegiate Athletic Association win over Cal State San Marcos on Saturday, snapping a three-match skid.

The Warriors, 13-8 overall and 7-8 in the CCAA, have won four consecutive matches at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.

Ehrlich (22 kills) was one of four Warriors to reach double figures in kills. Jocelyn Cervantes had 12 while Taylor Massengale and Clarissa Larry had 10 apiece.

San Marcos (6-19, 3-13), which upset Chico State in three sets Friday night, was led by Taylor Degraaf with 13 kills. The Cougars, the second-best blocking team in the conference, had 22 total blocks (all assisted) to make things difficult for Stanislaus State. Faith Fortune had seven block assists to lead San Marcos.

Saturday marked the fourth time she put away 20-plus this season. Ehrlich also had 20 kills Oct. 16 at San Marcos.

Madi Seidl surpassed the 50-assist mark for the second time in her Warrior career with 51 against the Cougars. On defense, Sarah Crowl had 24 digs, Cervantes 22 and Ehrlich 15. Morgan Miller and Larry each had three assisted blocks.
