MJC women place fourth at state golf tournament
Gabby Singh shot an 11-over-par 83 on Monday and finished as the low scorer at 167 over two rounds for Modesto Junior College, which finished fourth at the CCCAA Women’s State Championship at Morro Bay Golf Course.
The Pirates, one of two teams representing Northern California in the 36-hole, four-team event, totaled 678, 34 strokes behind champion Desert. Canyons (647) finished second and Sierra (650) third.
Parker Pilati of MJC shot a final-round 80 – the best score by the Pirates over two days – to finish at 168. Irvine Valley’s Leleaga Meredith shot an even-par 72 on Monday and won the medalist honor with a 3-over 147 total.
