Cal State Stanislaus volleyball is dealt first loss by Cal State Los Angeles
The Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday night, falling 25-9, 25-21, 25-20 at Cal State Los Angeles, its 13th consecutive setback to the Golden Eagles.
The Warriors took 7-1 overall and 1-1 California Collegiate Athletic Association records into a match at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday night.
Blair Ehrlich totaled nine kills and Taylor Massengale had seven kills to pace Stanislaus.
Cal State L.A. improved to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the CCAA.
Men’s soccer
Stanislaus 2, San Francisco State 0 in Turlock – Daniel Kuczynski, named the Division II Player of the Week by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, scored his eighth goal of the season as the Warriors improved to 6-0.
Kuczynski secured possession after a scramble for the ball and scored a chip-in goal to make it 1-0. Jose Ramirez scored the Warriors’ second goal 11 minutes later.
San Francisco State entered the contest with four shutouts and had only given up one goal in its first five matches.
The Warriors’ homestand continues when they host Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
Women’s soccer
Stanislaus 0, San Francisco State 0 in Turlock – The Warriors (4-1-1, 0-0-1 CCAA) and Gators opened CCAA play with a draw. However, Stanislaus extended its unbeaten streak against San Francisco State to 17-0-5 in their last 22 meetings.
The Warriors are hosts to Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday at 2 p.m.
