BAD TO THE BONZ Seventh Street Boxing Gym is having tryouts and providing adult and youth classes. A boxing clinic for coaches will be given by Tony Avila, owner of Bad to the Bonz. NFL FLAG FOOTBALL The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department’s NFL FLAG is a fast-paced game of 5-on-5 flag football where every player is eligible to receive the ball. There is no contact and no blocking. Teams are divided into three coed age groups. Player and coach registration through July 22 (must register in person). Games will be played Saturdays. Cost is $65 per player, including NFL FLAG reversible jersey and NFL FLAG belt. Late charge of $10 after July 22. HEALTH FAIR The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department’s Maddux Youth Center and the Tzu Chi Foundation will hold their annual health fair on July 10 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at Maddux Youth Center, 615 Sierra Drive, Modesto. This event will provide free clinical services such as dental, medical, acupuncture, pediatrics, blood pressure and blood sugar testing. This is a first-come, first-served event. RIVER OAKS JUNIOR PROGRAM Ages 5-17. Four-week group session from July 12-Aug. 3. SUMMER AQUATIC PROGRAMS The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department’s summer aquatic program is currently running. A variety of lessons, classes, camps and programs will be offered throughout the summer, including learning to swim, springboard diving and more. Public recreational swim through Aug. 5 (closed July 4), Monday through Saturday, 1-4 p.m. at Davis High School, 1200 W. Rumble Road; and Johansen High School, 641 Norseman Drive. Admission is $2 adults, $1.25 seniors and disabled and $1 for 17 and under. Lifeguards are American Red Cross certified. DAVIS HIGH SCHOOL CAMP Dr. Tom Peterson, two-time NCAA championship coach and 1994 NCAA Coach of the Year, and Brian Scott, women’s volleyball coach at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, will be the featured coaches at the Davis High volleyball camp from Aug. 1-3. High school camp from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and junior high camp from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost for the high school camp is $185 by June 30 and $200 after July 1.
