Game 7 in the NBA: Here’s what you need to know
The Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder will meet in the fourth Game 7 of this postseason on Monday at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
The defending champions needed a fourth-quarter rally and Klay Thompson’s record shooting night to stave off elimination as the Warriors won 108-101 in Oklahoma City on Saturday.

Here are some facts about Game 7s in the NBA:
▪ There have been 124 series to reach Game 7 in NBA history. Of those, the home team has won 100 times.
▪ In this postseason, there have been three Game 7s played, all in the Eastern Conference, with the home team going 3-0. Miami beat Charlotte 106-73 in the first round, Toronto topped Indiana 89-84 in the first round, and Toronto defeated Miami 116-89 in the second round.
▪ The last road team to win a Game 7: Brooklyn beat Toronto 104-103 in the first round in 2014.
▪ The NBA Finals has gone to Game 7 18 times. The most recent was 2013, when the Miami Heat beat the San Antonio Spurs.
▪ Three road teams have won the NBA Finals in Game 7. The last team to do so: Washington, which beat Seattle 105-99 in 1978. The Seattle franchise is now Oklahoma City.
▪ Since moving to Oklahoma City, the Thunder are 2-0 in Game 7s. They beat Memphis at home both times: in the second round in 2011 and the first round in 2014.
▪ Only three franchises have multiple road victories in Game 7: Boston (1968, 1969, 1974), New York (1973, 2000) and Indiana (1995, 2005).
▪ Golden State lost its last Game 7: 126-121 to the host Los Angeles Clippers in a 2014 first-round series. Overall, the franchise is 3-3 in Game 7s.
▪ Since moving to Sacramento, the Kings are 0-3 in Game 7s. The most recent was a Western Conference semifinals loss to Minnesota in 2004. The franchise is 2-4 overall, including a win over the New York Knicks in the 1951 NBA Finals as the Rochester Royals.
