BAD TO THE BONZ Seventh Street Boxing Gym is having tryouts for its 2016 program and providing adult and youth classes. YOUNG AT HEART S.T.E.P.S PROGRAM Through April 24, the Healthy Aging Association is holding a 12-week walking challenge for anyone 60 years and older. LIFEGUARD TRAINING COURSE The city of Modesto offers American Red Cross lifeguard training and Title 22 certification courses for ages 15 and up. Successful completion guarantees two years in lifeguard training, first aid, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, and three years for Title 22. Participants must take a pre-test to qualify for the course. Cost is $300. The next session is during Modesto City Schools spring break, March 28-April 2, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The final session is April 18-28 and consists of eight classes: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5-8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. All classes are held at Johansen High School, 641 Norseman Ave., Modesto. INDOOR WINTER/SPRING CLASSES The city of Modesto offers year-round swim lessons. Lessons include adult and child, preschool, levels 1 and 2, private and semi-private. Adult Water Exercise is designed to teach stretching and toning muscles using water resistance.
