The event is being organized by Modesto’s Jon Olsen, a former International Association of Ultrarunners world champion (2013), and John Brooks of Pacific Coast Trail Runs.
Other ultrarunners slated to compete include Joe Fejes, who holds the American record for running 606 miles in six days; and Ed Ettinghausen, the former American 24-hour record holder (144.6 miles) and current world record holder for the most 100-plus-mile races run in one year (40).

The Riverbank One Day marks Olsen’s first foray into race directing.

The event is open to runners of any level, and proceeds benefit the Teens Run Modesto program, designed to help disadvantaged youth complete a half or full marathon.
