Former Modesto prep stars drafted into NBA D-League
Three athletes who played high school basketball in Modesto were selected during Saturday’s NBA Developmental League draft. D.J. Seeley, who finished his prep career at Modesto Christian, was the 19th player chosen and went to the Delaware 87ers, the affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers. Marcus Bell, who played at Enochs and finished his college career at Cal State Stanislaus, went in the fifth round to the Santa Cruz Warriors, the affiliate of the Warriors. And in the seventh round, the Los Angeles D-Fenders grabbed former Modesto High standout Sammy Yeager. The D-League season opens Nov. 14.
