Padres announce 2027 schedule; will open vs. D-backs, finish in Chicago

A labor dispute could eat into the 2027 Major League Baseball season.

If the Padres play the entirety of the schedule, released on Thursday, they'll host the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers in weekend interleague games at Petco Park. They'll also play scheduled doubleheaders at Petco Park against the Chicago Cubs and at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies.

The former twinbill gives the Padres consecutive days off before the June 25 trip to Toronto. The latter doubleheader comes on July 10, in the final week before the All-Star break.

The Padres will open the season at home with a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks (March 25-28) and finish on the road at the Chicago White Sox (Sept. 24-27).

The Dodgers will make trips to Petco Park in April (9-11) and in late July (26-29), with the Padres playing games at Dodger Stadium in May (21-23) and September (10-12).

The Padres will host eight interleague series at Petco Park, taking on the Orioles (April 30-May 2), Royals (May 10-12), Red Sox (May 28-30), Rays (July 2-4), Mariners (July 16-18), Angels (July 19-21), Guardians (Aug. 23-25) and Rangers (Sept. 17-19).

The Padres will also play three road games against the A’s in Las Vegas (May 31-June 2) at the home of the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators. The Athletics’ full-time Vegas home on the Strip will not open until 2028.
