Report: At Least 5 NFL Teams Checking In On Stefon Diggs
Despite being the New England Patriots' leading receiver in 2025 en route to the team's Super Bowl appearance, Stefon Diggs went one-and-done with the team and is now a free agent. But while he's still looking for a team, a bunch of teams are reportedly looking at him.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler "at least" five NFL teams have been checking in on Diggs' status in the leadup to training camps, which start at the end of July. Diggs finished 2025 with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns, plus another 14 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs.
"At least five teams have been checking in on Diggs nearly two weeks out from camps," Fowler wrote on X. "Also noted here: Diggs produced 1,000 yards in New England coming off ACL tear and playing about 55% of the snaps. He feels like he can be even better due to offseason training with no injury concern."
When healthy, Diggs has ranked among the league's most productive receivers for the entirety of his career. Between 2018 and 2023, Diggs went over 1,000 yards each year and even enjoyed four straight trips to the Pro Bowl during his seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
He was on track for another huge year in Houston in 2024 before tearing his ACL midway through the season.
Challenges
The issue with Diggs is less to do with his injuries and more to do with his off-the-field issues. He's fresh off an assault trial where he was found not guilty and is currently in the middle of a civil lawsuit from an alleged 2023 incident. NFL teams usually don't want to deal with the headache of bringing on a new player that is right in the middle of legal battles, but there are exceptions of course.
Diggs certainly believes that he still ranks among the elite in the NFL. He recently went on his YouTube channel and boasted that he could "compete with anybody" and even if he wasn't the No. 1 receiver, he'd be the best No. 2 receiver in the league.
"My opinion, I can compete with anybody," Diggs said. "But take those [top receivers] as your 1s, right? You can't name a No. 2 better than me."
Will Diggs find a new team before training camp starts?
