Patrick Mahomes Development Emerges Before 10th NFL Season

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to reestablish themselves as the league's top team after a disastrous 2025 NFL season. Before last season, Mahomes had made at least the AFC Championship Game every year since being named the starting quarterback in 2018.

Not only did Kansas City snap that streak last year, but it also failed to make the playoffs entirely, finishing third in the AFC West at 6-11. To make matters worse, Mahomes tore his ACL in a 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. The Whitehouse High School graduate is expected to be available by Week 1 of the 2026 season.
