Denver Broncos Make Decision on Pat Surtain Amid NFL Offseason
The Denver Broncos have adjusted the contract on star cornerback Pat Surtain.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Broncos and Surtain have agreed on a contract adjustment that will give Surtain a $5 million raise. He'll have the chance to make another $5 million next year with a Pro Bowl or an All-Pro nod.
Surtain is entering the first year of the four-year $96 million extension that he signed before the 2024 season. He's one of the best cornerbacks in the league, finishing the 2025 season with 47 total tackles, 12 passes defended, and one interception.

He's been with the Broncos for the last five seasons after being selected ninth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played his college football at Alabama for three seasons (2018-20).
Surtain has played in 80 NFL games, totaling 279 tackles, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, 59 passes defended, and 12 interceptions.
He has compiled 60+ total tackles in two of his first five seasons and is looking to help the Broncos take another big step this season after they got to the AFC Championship game last season. They lost to the New England Patriots, who went on to lose to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.
The Broncos will open the 2026 season on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 14. It will be a great first test for them against a division rival.
Kickoff will be at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC.
