Padres minors: Homers can't save Fort Wayne, El Paso loses big
The longball couldn't keep high Single-A Fort Wayne in the game on Wednesday.
Left fielder Alex McCoy, shortstop Justin DeCriscio and catcher Lamar King Jr. all went deep in the TinCaps' 22-9 loss to visiting Dayton.
McCoy's blast was his eighth of the season. He's hitting .292/.361/.577 with 23 RBIs in 37 games.
DeCriscio (.991 OPS) went 2-for-3 with his second homer and King (.784 OPS) drove in three runs on his third homer.
McCoy, Jake Cunningham (.936 OPS), Jack Costello (.778 OPS) and Oswaldo Linares (.627 OPS) also all had two hits. Linares, Cunningham and Costello each had a double.
Right-hander Ty Adcock (shoulder) allowed two runs in in an inning in his first rehab appearance in the Midwest League.
Right-hander Maikel Miralles (0-5, 8.20 ERA) allowed eight runs in 1⅔ innings in the start.
Fort Wayne is 19-22.

Visalia 6, Storm 3: DH Jose Verdugo (.649 OPS) went 2-for-3 with his second homer and a double. C Truitt Madonna (.773 OPS) went 3-for-4 2ith an RBI. LF Qrey Lott (.840 OPS) went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. CF Ryan Wideman (.887 OPS) went 1-for-5 with his 30th steal. RHP Jesus A. Castro (3.07 ERA) struck out six over four shutout innings in the start.
