On Wednesday, the Modesto Roadsters released their 96-game slate for the 2026 campaign, including 51 home contests. The schedule will feature a mix of six-game series, similar to the MLB Minor Leagues, and three-game series. Most games will be played Tuesday through Sunday, with Monday reserved as an off day or travel day.
The Roadsters’ inaugural series is at John Thurman Field as they start their season at home against the PBL Travel Team for six games from May 19-24, 2026. Their first road trip begins the next day with a May 25 travel day before kicking off a six-game set against the Boise Hawks in Idaho from Tuesday, May 26, to Sunday, May 31.
Manager JT Snow comes to Modesto after being the Oakland Ballers’ bench coach in 2024. The six-time Gold Glove winner in his first professional managerial role will face his former ballclub for the first time in a three-game road series June 19-21, followed by three home games June 23-25. The Ballers are the defending Pioneer Baseball League champions.
The Modesto tradition of Independence Day ballpark fireworks continues as the Roadsters kick off their first three-game home series against the Ballers on July 3. The July 3-4 games will feature postgame pyrotechnics.
Fans who want to travel to road games this season will have the chance to see the Roadsters play series in Oakland against the Ballers and in Yuba as the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers are also on the schedule. The Roadsters open June with a six-game home series against the High Wheelers as part of 14 home games against the team. Additionally, the Modesto side will play 12 road games in Marysville at the historic Bryant Field, established in 1937. The Roadsters will play the Ballers 24 times in 2026, 15 on the road and nine at home.
The Roadsters’ last home series is at the end of August, when they welcome another new California PBL team, the Long Beach Baseball Club, to John Thurman Field for three games. Modesto then hosts the Missoula Paddleheads for three home contests.
In the last six games of their inaugural season, the Roadsters will leave Modesto for Southern California to play Long Beach.
Snow told The Bee his coaching philosophy is simple: Key in on fundamentals with an old-school flair and approach.
After playing 16 Major League seasons from 1992-2008 for the New York Yankees, California Angels, San Francisco Giants and Boston Red Sox, Snow has learned firsthand what type of manager players respond to.
“I think I’m going to try and manage the way that I played during my career, and that was to try and win the game that night,” he said. “Do everything you can to win the game that night. Some games are going to get away from you early. You got to make some adjustments, but we’re going to try and win every night.”
