Ex-Fresno State star Davante Adams joins Raiders in a trade, reunites with Derek Carr

Davante Adams and Derek Carr are back together again.

The Las Vegas Raiders acquired Adams from the Green Bay Packers. The trade was made official on Friday.

In return, the Packers get the Raiders’ 2022 first-round pick and a second-round pick.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported the deal is for five years, $141.25 million.

The addition of Adams gives Carr a top receiver he had been lacking for several seasons, although slot receiver Hunter Renfrow hit 1,038 yards last season and tight end Darren Waller led the team in receiving in 2019 and 2020 with more than 1,000 yards.

Both starred at Fresno State and led the Bulldogs to a Mountain West title in 2013, and set numerous school records during their time with the Bulldogs.

Adams was a two-time All-American at Fresno State and caught a touchdown pass in 22 of 26 career games. He also had streaks of 11 school and Mountain West records and nine-straight games catching a touchdown pass in his career.

Adams had 38 career touchdowns from Carr, setting a school and Mountain West record. Adams also set a school record with 233 career receptions.

In total, Adams set 14 new Mountain West records in his career and 11 Fresno State records with Carr as his quarterback. He finished his Fresno State career with 3,030 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Since entering the league in 2014, Adams has been named to the Pro Bowl five times and is a two-time All-Pro selection.

Adams was drafted by the Packers in the second round.

Adams’ trade reaction

After the trade went down, Raiders players and fans quickly reacted.

Even Fresno State..

Raiders Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby chimed in, as well as new Raider pass rusher Chandler Jones and other teammates.

Fans reacted to the trade as well.
