Eric Dickerson to speak at awards banquet at Sportsmen of Stanislaus Club

Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson is the guest speaker for the 48th annual Outstanding Athlete Awards Banquet, to be held May 13 at the Sportsmen of Stanislaus Club.

Dickerson, an All-American at SMU, rushed for more than 13,000 yards during his 11-year NFL career, and his 2,105-yard performance in 1984 remains a single-season record. Also attending on OAA night is former standout NFL receiver Roy Green.

Stanislaus County’s top athletes and teams of 2014 will be honored, along with Hall of Fame inductees and other award recipients. Also featured are the 2014 Central Catholic football team and Modesto Christian girls basketball team, both state champions.
