The boys are back in town

The Modesto Nuts dodged raindrops Tuesday for their annual media day at John Thurman Field, with all but three of the 25 players pulling on a Nuts jersey for the first time. New manager Fred Ocasio and 17 of his players were members of the Asheville Tourists team that soared to the 2014 South Atlantic League championship. The 11th season of Nuts baseball and 69th summer of California League baseball in Modesto opens Thursday night in Lake Elsinore. The 70-game home season starts April 16, when Modesto meets Inland Empire to open a seven-game homestand. Above, Correlle Prime (35) and teammates relax before taking the team picture.
