Three things to watch
HAWK THE BALL
While the defense has had its struggles, the Raiders rank second in the league in turnover margin at plus-8 through seven games. Tampa Bay is tied for 23rd at minus-3, and quarterback Jameis Winston is a big reason why. Winston has thrown nine interceptions and also lost two fumbles, giving him 11 turnovers in six games. If Winston gives the Raiders’ defense those opportunities, they’ll need to take advantage.
GO-TO TARGETS
This game features the league’s co-leaders in receiving touchdowns with six each by Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans and Oakland’s Michael Crabtree. While Crabtree benefits from defenses also having to account for Amari Cooper, Evans is the clear No. 1 target on the Buccaneers’ offense; his 40 catches and 545 yards lead the team by far. At 6-foot-5 and 231 pounds, he will be a physical challenge for the Raiders’ secondary.
BUILD ON LAST WEEK
The Raiders allowed a season-low 344 yards last week in Jacksonville, albeit against a struggling Jaguars team. The defense is creating turnovers and getting off of the field on third down (34.5 percent conversions, seventh in the league), but has yet to string together consecutive strong performances. If they can Sunday, it could give the Raiders their first 6-2 start since 2001.
