Woody Hall: Racing down our streets won’t get you a ticket in Modesto

Speeding in northeast Modesto is becoming a real problem. I live off Mable and Oakdale roads. From Briggsmore to Sylvan, if you don’t exceed the limit by at least 10 mph you get tailgated and honked at. This morning I drove past Beyer High at 7:30 a.m.; traffic was going 35 to 40 mph with school lights flashing and students on both sides of the road. I hope the new Modesto PD officers will allow better enforcement of speed laws throughout the entire city. It looks more like a race track than city streets.
