Allison Snyder: Community Hospice provided emotional support, quality of care

Re “Doctors blast management as they split with hospice” (Front page, Aug. 4): I have been saddened by the recent negative articles about Community Hospice. My mother suffered a massive stroke in January and spent her last five days at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House. The quality of care provided by staff as well as the emotional support provided to my family and to me by volunteers was appreciated beyond words. Not only did my sweet mother receive extraordinary comfort and care, but my family and I received the support we needed to say goodbye and we were given a sense of peace being in such a beautiful, caring place during such a difficult time. Community Hospice has a special place in my heart and will continue to have my support.

Allison Snyder, Modesto
