Robert Shannon: Real Republicans aren’t deserting Trump

Re “The GOP must dump Trump” (Page 3B, Aug. 11): Joe Scarborough’s piece is full of lies. He is really not a Republican. He claims to be, but uses the title to sound authoritative when he rants against Republicans. When Donald Trump was referring to the “Second Amendment people” he was referring to the organizational abilities of the leadership of the NRA, and its ability to persuade politicians, not killing anyone. Recently Trump has put forth some very sound ideas on economic changes and his stand against the Trans-Pacific Partnership. As written, it piques my interest. The document is two-thirds about governance of nations in the pact and not about how trade should be conducted. Trump is able to make me pay attention and maybe vote for him.
