Barbara Porter: DCCC is turning off donors by incessant pleas for money
I have contributed many donations to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and to senators and congressional servants who work hard in getting results for all of us. I’m a senior citizen who is on Social Security. For my small donations, the organization Act Blue keeps a record of all incoming donations. My summary indicates that at least seven donations from me went to the DCCC.
What I finds upsetting is that, on more than one occasion, I have received emails from the DCCC saying, “you haven’t done our survey” (I did at least five of them), or words to that effect. Or, “We can’t count on you.” And the latest, to which I really took umbrage, photos of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Michele Obama and Nancy Pelosi with expressions of obvious disappointment on their faces. At the top of that same email, the DCCC confirmed my latest donation.
Insulting loyal supporters is a definite turn-off. Regardless, I will continue to donate to have Hillary Clinton become our 45th president and to be part of making the Democratic platform a reality for all. DCCC, please get it together!
