Larry W. Campbell: Editors should identify themselves when picking on Trump
Re “If Jeff Denham can’t reject Trump, we must reject him” (Page 1D, Aug. 7): I smell the overpowering aroma of two-faced journalism. While you try to trap Rep. Denham on his support of The Donald, you hide behind the coward’s curtain of “Editorial Board.” In the editorial, you state, Rep. Denham’s staff has told you he will support “the nominee of the party.” Sounds like the question has been answered.
In your instructions for submission of letters to the editor, one of your requirements is name of sender. You then print that name at the end of the letter. Where is your name? Real Americans don’t hide. You bet your bippy, put my name on it.
Larry W. Campbell, Modesto
Editor’s note: Editorials are the consensus opinion of the Editorial Board, whose members are listed each day at the bottom of the Opinion Page. Opinions Page editor Mike Dunbar recorded a video to accompany the editorial and generally originates the Our View editorials, though some are altered in the editing process.
