Efren Martinez: Be mindful of your dog’s paws during hot weather
Just as you wouldn't walk barefoot on the hot pavement, please be mindful not to walk your dog when the mercury exceeds 95 degrees outside. As it gets hotter, so do our roads, pavements and sidewalks. In fact when the temperature exceeds 100 degrees, the pavement can get to be hot enough to cook an egg. Friends, pet paws can burn too just like your feet can on the hot road or even at the beach on hot sand. Always leave a fresh water and a cool place for your outdoor pets before you leave for work each day, and for the love of all that lives, never leave your child or pet unattended in the car with the windows rolled up no matter what season it is, never!
