Sunny Poncet: Media partially to blame for tragedies
Every where you turn now days you see/hear of another senseless shooting, then the discussions on how to stop it. It goes on for hours. I think if the media would just back off, let these hot bed areas figure things out without all the cameras & microphones in their faces, let them breathe. You know the 15 minutes of fame phrase, well, this is what the media is fueling the fire with. The sad thing is these groups are riding it based on a tragedy.
We have laws through this country put in place hoping to stop such things from happening. Keep the laws but enforce them.
Families of all colors refuse to believe that their child is a gang member. In some cases the parent doesn't speak English and knows only what they are told. These children need to know they have laws to obey, waving guns around and sassing cops is not going to turn out good. I do believe that when cops have to shoot they should aim for areas that are not life threatening. In life there's always that one bad apple, that applies to police or politicians, etc.
