Tom Donalson: Why didn’t California’s senators support Kate’s Law?
An illegal criminal alien who had been deported five times but returned to the “sanctuary city” of San Francisco murdered a young woman named Kate Steinle last year. Kate’s Law provides for mandatory prison sentences for illegal criminal alien felons and was passed by the House of Representatives and went to the Senate for a vote. I urged both Sen. Barbara Boxer and Sen. Dianne Feinstein to vote in favor of the bill. Both voted against Kate’s Law and the bill was defeated.
I asked both senators to provide me with their reasoning for voting against Kate’s Law, but so far have not received a reply. It is disheartening to think our two California senators think more of illegal criminal aliens than our own American citizens. I would like to urge voters to email the senators asking them to vote for future bills similar to Kate’s Law.
