Jeffre Hudson: Do things God’s way, or suffer the consequences
Our country began as a nation honoring God, but we have slid into a quagmire of sin that will eventually suffocate us because we refuse to turn ourselves around and honor God again. Even casual observation reveals that things are getting worse, not better, and that our nation is in self-destruct mode. Chaos and lawlessness are overcoming us. God says, without stuttering, that He hates sin – homosexuality, abortion, murder, adultery, abusing children, lying, stealing, using his name in vain, hatred of those different from us, denying his existence, etc. He says sinners deserve death. He is God, after all, and he makes the rules.
God made it clear that we will suffer consequences, personally and as a nation, for doing things our way. But He lovingly sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place so that we don’t have to suffer for our sins eternally. We must sincerely repent for breaking his rules, accept what his son did for us, and determine to live our lives for him. Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? Do things God’s way; we can’t survive by making up our own rules.
