Samuel H. Newnam: Don’t blame police for death of Denver girl

About the 16-year-old girl shot by the Denver Police recently: She was parked in an alley with four passengers in what is believed to be a stolen car. She takes off, hits one police officer with the car and is shot by another police officer. Now protesters are asking why was a teenager shot for stealing a car?

Really? Shot for stealing a car? Guess they forgot she tried to kill a cop.

Had she obeyed the police officers, and not tried to drive off or run over another police officer, she wouldn’t have been shot. She would still be alive.

The protest signs read: Stop the police violence. Stop the murder of our children. Really? For God’s sake. Are people really this stupid and biased against the police, thinking a police officer has no right to defend himself?

If any of you feel the same way these people do, I have a suggestion. Next time you are in fear for your life, don’t call the police. They might shoot you if you try to kill them first. Instead, give Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson a call.
