Gaetana Drake: Extremist come in many guises, including Christian

It is well known that Donald Trump is a terrorists’ recruiters dream. His dangerous rhetoric (“all Muslims hate us; let’s ban them all”) is being used as a recruiting tool for ISIS. If there is an American Muslim who hears how much Trump hates even American-born, peaceful Muslims, is it hard to imagine someone could be swayed by what he says?

It has to be hard for someone born and raised in this country to listen to Trump’s attacks on all Muslims and see how much hatred and violence he promotes. There are 1.5 billion Muslims in the world and it’s a very small percentage who are radical. But Trump would have you believe they all want to kill Americans. He never speaks of the handful of Christian terrorists – like the Baptist ministers in both Sacramento and Arizona who were overjoyed to hear of the 103 people shot in a gay nightclub and who went so far as to say all gays should be murdered. Those ministers are terrorists, just like the Islamic radicals.

What’s the difference? Islam or Christianity? It’s the extremists of any religion who are a danger to us all. Trump promotes nothing but hatred.
