Nancee Gomez: Seen from railroad tracks, Modesto’s a mess

Recently I traveled from Modesto to Bakersfield. The track from Modesto through the small towns was disgusting. You name it – shopping carts, clothing, mattresses, homeless encampments, huge pieces of concrete. The graffiti was equally bad. I suggest the powers-that-be utilize alternate work programs to remedy this. Let the low-level jail inmates contribute to cleaning up a mess.
