Salvador Montoya Ortega: Help for Spanish-speaking people who stutter

Re “Help for stuttering” (Letters, May 6): The letter mentioned the resources available through the nonprofit Stuttering Foundation. I would like to add something and point out to Bee readers that the Stuttering Foundation also has a Spanish-language version of their website at www.tartamudez.org to serve both the Hispanic population in the U.S. and people who stutter in Latin America. This website is invaluable for people who speak Spanish. Many times Spanish-speaking parents in the U.S. do not know where to seek help for their child who stutters. For bilingual children, stuttering presents more difficulties. The website has a great brochure entitled "Stuttering and the Bilingual Child".
