Kobie Griggs: Story of intrigue in DA office disappointing, frightening

Re “Ex-senior prosecutor airs DA’s Office dirty laundry” (Front page, May 8): Who are the real criminals? Reporter Garth Stapley’s article left me frightened, disgusted and disturbed.

Douglas Maner’s decision to open up about corruption and unfair practices in the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s office was shocking! While I fear for Maner, my message to the DA’s office is: Shame on you! The idea of standing for justice, efforts to protect the citizens of the county in a moral and ethical way and doing the right thing all seem to be unimportant.

It is a joke for the citizens to think our officials are doing the right thing when they are too busy backbiting, escaping charges, etc. Those in that office are giving our county a bad name.

“The fix is in!” As citizens of this county, we have to watch our backs from both sides.
