Bill Wood: How will Hillary’s email crime be fixed?

The fix is in! Consider three different cases. Retired four-star U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus was convicted of a misdemeanor and given two years probation and $100,000 fine after he shared printed classified material with his biographer Paula Broadwell, a Lt. Colonel.

Next, Private E-3 Bowe Bergdahl deserted his post in Afghanistan, June 2009. The Taliban released him May 2014 in exchange for five hard-core Guantanamo detainees. His release was announced in the White House Rose Garden. His father made a speech in Pashto which was not translated; who knows what he said. For misbehaving before the enemy, deserting his post and causing the death of his fellow soldiers sent to search for him, Bergdahl was promoted from Pvt. E-3 to E-4 and, after his release, sergeant. The Obama administration continues to fumble with this serious crime, surely in the hope it will be overlooked.

Finally the scandal of Hillary Clinton’s emails and how she handled loads of highly classified material. The investigation continues. Which way will the Obama administration go with this serious matter, the Petraeus route or the Bergdahl fumble? I bet on the fumble-and-forget solution. Once she is elected president, she can pardon herself.
